Oral Health Award

St Bede's has been awarded the Oral Health Award.

We are continuously working with South Tyneside Foundation Trust Oral Health Promotion Team to develop ways of promoting good oral health in our school.  A range of oral health promoters regularly visit our school, working with the children and the staff on important messages such as tooth brushing, healthy snacks and drinks for teeth and dental attendance.

We would like you to continue the good work at home that we have started and support your child to:

  • Brush their teeth morning and night using a fluoride toothpaste.

  • Keep sugary foods and drinks to mealtimes – fresh fruit, plain water and milk are great for in-between meals.

  • Visit the dentist regularly for check-ups – it is free for children.
