Spanish Club

Spanish Club runs on Thursdays after school between 3.20pm and 4.20pm for Key Stage 2 pupils. We learn about Spanish language and culture through games, songs, drama, craft activities and cooking.
A very 'Feliz Navidad' (Merry Christmas) from Spanish Club and Moncho, Coco, Meche, Carlitos, Beto, Pancho, Rafa, Anita, Chucho and Lupe, our sock puppet friends who have been helping us to learn Spanish this term. If you are in Year 1 or Year 2 and would like to join Spanish Club next term, please look out for the letter coming home after the holidays. Gracias.

Batidos de Frutas (Fruit Smoothies)

We have been learning about fruits in Spanish and created some fruit smoothie recipes.

We tried out some of our recipes and made some delicious and refreshing combinations!

We made the following fruit smoothies (batidos de frutas) and tasted them giving our opinions in Spanish: Me encanta (I love);  Me gusta (I like); No me gusta (I don't like) and Detesto (I hate).

We voted for our favourite one. Here are our results:

plátano y fresas (banana and strawberry) - 6 votes

pera y uvas (pear and grape) - 4 votes

manzana y pera (apple and pear) - 1 vote

manzana y naranja (apple and orange) - 1 vote

Easter in Spain

In the run up to Easter, the children in Spanish Club have learnt all about Easter in Spain and the important celebrations that happen in Holy Week (Semana Santa).

We have worked together to design and decorate our own Semana Santa mini-floats and we carried out our own procession with them in true Spanish style. ¡Felices Pascuas! (Happy Easter!)

Making Semana Santa Floats 2017

Semana Santa (Holy Week) 2016

We made floats (pasos) from shoe boxes and had our own Semana Santa (Holy Week) procession.
